Inspires by his passion to tell his story Mike Warren has published eight books with one on the way. The titles are: “A Private Affair” “Sweet Swagger” “Sir Yes Sir” “Just Make Him Beautiful” “Timing Is Everything” “Love All Of Me” “The Cool In You” “Church Brothas” and he is currently working on this ninth book “Meet Me On The Moon”. Writing for the “Gay Urban Lit” genre Mike has made quite a name for himself. When asked how he found a publisher and would you recommend that company to an up and coming author he replied “I found the publisher by accident. I was talking to a friend whose cousin had just been published and I spoke to him about my manuscript and he gave me the publisher’s phone number. I called the publisher and the rest is history. Would I recommend this publisher……HELL NAW!!!!!” Fortunately for us authors, the best thing about having a publisher is that they can get our names and books out there to the public. And therefore, as time goes by, Mike was able to develop a fan base. Once he had a fan base, he no longer needed a publisher to do what he could do for himself. As a result, he then started his own publishing company called Mike Warren Publishing and published his last four books on his own.
Mike started his love for writing while attending college. He received his Master’s Degree in Communications from Towson State University and has been writing ever since. He is the author of several LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Trans) novels. His first novel, “A Private Affair” was picked up by Life Changing Books publication Company and published in the summer of 2007. Because of the controversy and peaked sales, Mr. Warren was asked by his publisher to do a sequel, thus bringing forth his second novel, “Sweet Swagger” which was published in 2009. Two other novels then followed, “Sir Yes Sir” published in 2011 and “Just Make Him Beautiful” published in 2013.
He then left his publishing company, Life Changing Books and branched out on his own and formed his own publishing company titled, Mike Warren Publishing. Where he published his first self-published book titled, “Timing Is Everything” published in May 2014 and his soon to be released, “The Cool In You.”
Mr. Warren is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and still resides in Baltimore which is called, Charm City. He is the father of five grown children and has been in a loving relationship with his partner for five years. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, reading and spending time with his family.
He started his publishing company “Mike Warren Publishing” in 2014. Since that time he has self-published four books and is working towards finishing his fifth. “The best decision he ever made in my Life was self-publishing his books.

Author Matthew Taylor
Matthew Taylor is the author of “Student of Life: My Lessons Are Yours”. His inspiration for writing this book came from wanting to leave a legacy, wanting to use his experiences to help others, wanting to monetize his talents for writing and also from the special woman in his life Karen. Although the content was originally intended to be part of a blog, it was a ten week process that turn into a published book. This is Matthew’s first book and he is diligently working toward his next one which will be far more poetic and personal. Once his book was finished Matthew definitely did his homework when looking into publishing. He also talked to seasoned veterans and wasn’t afraid to ask for advice. Some were gracious enough to point him in the right direction, which he is grateful for. He ended up self-publishing which he thinks isn’t a bad idea for those who believe in creating their own opportunities. Matthew reached out to many people who upon the release of his book. He also spread the word to friends and family. He made a point to reach out to someone new every day. He did pop up shops, speaking events, was part of a tour with some other talented authors, radio shows, and fortunately got on the cover of DOS Magazine. The compounded efforts lead him to many more interviews, features events and contacts. He has met some great people along the way who shared some opportunities with him as well, and he was able to share his with them. When he was asked what advice would he give to a young person that wants to become an author? He replied I would tell a young person who wants to become an author that they should absolutely go for it. Doing anything new is always scary, but getting past the fear means getting to the rewards. To Matthew being an author means freedom. Freedom to express yourself and release your thoughts. He strongly feels that author is the root word in authority for a reason. Authors want the freedom to be in charge of their own destiny and say and do what they feel. What I also love about being an author is it gives you the ability to create something that can outlive yourself. It gives you the ability to leave a legacy.”To sum it up he states “once your book has been published take every step possible to grow awareness and networking is very important.”
